Les Aiguilles de Port Coton
Wonder of nature, their name comes from the foam whipped during stormy or windy weather. Indeed, the foam flies in large flakes sparkling like cotton. French-painter Claude Monet revealed paintings of these unique jagged rocks. The place often offers sublime warm-colored sunsets.
Located 2 kilometers from our hotel, this emblamtic beach is settled along the wild coast. It is famous for the beauty of its dunes and impressive waves during windy weather.
La Pointe des Poulains
Located at the north-west extremity of the island, it is an iconic site of Belle-Ile.
When arriving on the site, the visit begins with the property of the famous tragic actress Sarah Bernhardt. The property gathers 2 villas and a fort enabling visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past times.
While carrying on with the stroll along the coast, you will catch a sight ot the Poulain's Light House perched on an islet you can access during low tide. Inside the ligthouse, an exhibition evoke the natural resources of the place.
Le Grand Phare de Goulphar
Considered as the most imposing lighthouse of the three ones built on the island, it is located in Kervilahouen on the southern-west coast. This 92 meters-granite-tower was built between 1826 and 1835. Its light is one of Europe's most powerful and can be seen up to 50 kilometers away. The view from the top is breathtaking. At the bottom, a permanent exhibition shows the different aspects of the job of a lightouse keeper.
Dominating the harbor of Le Palais, classed as a historical monument since 2006, its museum is open all year long (except in January). The entrance ticket enables you to visit the art and history museum and the naval room.
